We live in a world where we spend almost our 99.9% of our time on the internet; we all know that we need to access our files everywhere. So storing them on an actual hard drive might not be so practical and has potentially driven people to seek out new ways to access data. Because of this need, cloud computing was created and has been adopted widely. While that may sound good, it does create an issue of its own. The issue that is created by it is that we see many companies offering the service, which makes it hard to weed out the bad ones. This is why we find cloud storage review(s) a good option,

They allow you to pick what features you want, break it down so it is easy to understand and gives you the prices. They take out the research that you would otherwise have to make. It makes your end easier, which in the way is the whole point for seeking out cloud storage review(s). It will also give you an idea on what you can expect from certain services. Things like membership levels and how much storage you will have. It’s the features that you will want to know first of all before you sign up and pay for the service. These are the things that most people want to know before they fork over money, so reviews do come in handy.

Beyond that, they are also interesting to read for those who want to compete with other cloud computing. It will give smaller companies more info on what is lacking and what is competing out there.

This tool can be vital to many on different levels. It does not fit just one set of needs. Perhaps that is partly due why we see so many review sites since they do well and many seek them out. While some of you may not be a fan of these kinds of sites, they are worth checking out to make sure your investment stays protected.

Most of the world uses Facebook and while that is fine, there are also many of us who use it too often. So when it comes to blocking FB, it becomes tempting. So I decided to test out FB Limiter (which the review will be out later on this week), which was okay. But my main issue was that you cannot uninstall it via the add and remove program features. You get an error message, which apparently varies for everyone. Mine said that the uninstall file was damaged. While I do understand that they are trying to prevent kids from uninstalling it, but it does make it that much harder. So I am going to go over on how you have to uninstall it without downloading or buying software to do it for you.

First of thing first, open your registry file by going on start/(all) programs/accessories/run. Type Regedit and hit enter. You will then load the editor. Please be warned that you do need to back it up before you make edits, and also you will likely need to be logged in as admin in order to access the registry.

Next you need to go to edit and select find key. You will need to search for these 3 keys, but I do want to edit that since I have Win 7 I only found the second one and deleted the folder. That effectively uninstalled it, but I do recommend that you search for all 3 no matter what OS you are using.

(HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FB Limiter 1.0.0.0)

(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\FB Limiter 1.0.0.0)

(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\eg ui)

Delete the entire folders that these keys reside in, which you will find in the tree on the left side of your screen.

After you delete these, check under your add and remove programs to make sure that it isn’t there anymore you can then delete the icon off your desktop.

This appears to be the only effective way that does not cost or require you to download anything off the internet to remove it. While this way does sound more daunting, I can say that you don’t have to worry about new viruses or other bugs that you could risk exposing your system to otherwise.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments and if you found other valid ways to remove it, please share.

Yes, that is a strange question to ask to most people. Yet with most of the world using the Internet to make money, to stay connected or just to use it for fun, it has become a crucial part of our lives. Case in point, as a writer and blogger I make my living by writing online. And when the my connect goes out, it means that I am losing money. So you can picture how angry I was when it went out for almost 12 hours a couple weeks ago. I was pretty much beside myself and started thinking about a backup connection.

You may wonder why on earth would anyone need a backup connection or let alone afford it? If you use the Internet as part of your job, then yes you do need a backup connection for you to do your work. As for the price, I am going to say you should go the old school way. Dial up is slow, but you can often find cheaper deals on it-including free dial up. Since you won’t be using it daily, the lack of speed won’t matter. However, in order to keep the service you will have to keep paying for it even if you hardly use it.

As for myself, if you are wondering-I will most likely use a free dial up option. Those like Earth Link offer a limited, free edition and that would work best for me. However, I haven’t fully made my mind yet. Tell me what you would do if you don’t have 2 connections? Or if you do, let me know what you use for your backup provider?

GoDaddy has had a couple of rough weeks due to SOPA and PIPA. Once word spread around that they did indeed support, users of their services decide to take the matter in their own hands and created the Dump GoDaddy Day. While it is too early to know how many did leave their service, they finally caved in and retracted their support of the censorship bills. Here is what their CEO had to say as a response to the massive amount of transfer they have seen today.

We have observed a spike in domain name transfers, which are running above normal rates and which we attribute to GoDaddy’s prior support for SOPA, which was reversed. GoDaddy opposes SOPA because the legislation has not fulfilled its basic requirement to build a consensus among stake-holders in the technology and Internet communities. Our company regrets the loss of any of our customers, who remain our highest priority, and we hope to repair those relationships and win back their business over time.

The law is supposed to prevent piracy and is Hollywood supported. However, the law has a lot of loopholes that cause fear among much of the Internet. You can read the actual text of SOPA at the Library of Congress. The other related bill that has stirred up as much dislike is PIPA (which GoDaddy also pulled their support of). You will find the text of that at Open Congress.

GoDaddy earlier last week claimed to stop offering support for the 2 bills, but left much to be desired by their users, hence why this day went forward. Hopefully they and other companies that offer similar support will see that this is their future. As for now both bills have yet to be passed, but we all know that they will keep trying to push them through. Please contact your local officials and tell them to say NO to these bills.

Tell me, do you support these bills or not? Also, if you live outside of the US tell us how you feel about these bills?

Back in late 2010 I was contacted by MaxCDN to try out their service and see if I liked it (yes, I was sponsored by them). I was beyond thrilled and agreed to give it a try. For those who are not aware about what their service is, here is their own description in their words.

Because our CDN delivers your downloadables – images, video, scripts, css – with super-fast load times. CDN Plug-ins make MaxCDN a breeze to implement on WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Typo3, Magento, and most other popular applications.

Even better? Faster load times can even boost your Google rankings and your website’s conversion rate!

However, after agreeing to the sponsorship I ran into issues with my own host and had to move my site around. Well after I finally got it fixed up in earlier this year and ran into a few issues. It appeared that it was not going to work, yet their amazing tech support helped me and made me realize that they have a great team behind them. This pleased me as I was eager to see the deal was all about.

As time went on and I checked my stats I didn’t really notice a difference. They claim that they help your ad conversion and loading time, but I never noticed any difference at all. This really disappointed me, but I do realize that as a smaller blog that I might not expect to see the bigger picture that larger blogs would, so I won’t say that it does not work on that just based on my blog. If I had more visitors and watched my stats before I used them, then yes I would have likely noticed a different. So I cannot fairly judge them on what they promise sadly. Despite of that I did find one major plus that I feel they should use as a marketing advantage and that is website stats.

I found their analytics just as good as Google’s, even if it is a bit better. It also seemed to be much more update often and that is a huge plus for those who hate Google. I found it to be very insightful and I feel like that made it well worth money in my opinion. It was also nice to see a mirrored version of your site, but I am not really sure why that exist if it doesn’t protect your site from hosting issues.

So as a whole I give them a solid 9 points out of 10. I really had no issues, they are very professional and best of all they do provide an amazing service. I just wish I was able to get a solid look at the service helping me to get more ad conversions for my own site. But at last, my blog just isn’t right up to that point yet. Maybe one day I will finally be able to test those waters out, but in the mean time I still highly recommend them for their fabulous analytics.

Today marks 55 days until Christmas and 50 days until Hanukkah. So holiday shopping is starting to be on the mind of most, and one popular item every year is the cell phone. Kids younger and younger get cell phones each year. Yet no one seems to know what is a good option to get. So most go with a cheap phone from their plan and get racked up with bills. However, their are 2 options that you to pick from that is a whole lot cheaper and puts you in control.

Verizon has the LG Migo, which is cute green phone for kids. It allows up to 4 numbers to be programmed into it. It also features a speaker phone and a emergency button on the keypad. The phone does not support voice mail, texting or web. It is strictly a phone. It is perfect for young kids who need one, but you want to control what it is used for. It sells for $59.99 via fine retailers like Amazon.

Kajeet is marketed as a smartphone for kids. It is ideal for teens since they have 5 levels of plans. They also have a large selection of phones to pick from and support parental controls. They even have a couple of Android based phones, which is a great option for those seeking cheap options. It does not require any contracts or termination fee. You only pay for it when you want to use it.

While some may say that regular pre-paid phones can do the same as Kajeet, most of them do have not have features that can protect your kid. It puts you in control of your kid’s phone use and that is key here.

So tell me, what kind of phones do you think kids should have? Leave your opinion in the comments below.

Netflix has had a few rough months to say at the least. With an increase on their DVD rental price to make more room for in-demand streaming, they were met with angry customers. This caused them to lose subscribers at a high rate and made their stocks go down. They took notice and decided to release a spin off service solely for DVD rentals called Qwikster. This sounded like a wise idea, but many of their customers hated the idea of having 2 different accounts. Thus, they have now canceled the plan and have decided to stick with one site. Here is what Netflix has to say.

There is a difference between moving quickly — which Netflix has done very well for years — and moving too fast, which is what we did in this case. Consumers value the simplicity Netflix has always offered and we respect that….(US members) will continue to use one website, one account and one password for their movie and TV watching enjoyment under the Netflix brand…It is clear that for many of our members two websites would make things more difficult.” He added, “While the July price change was necessary, we are now done with price changes.

I am a fan of Netflix, so I am sad to see them running into this issue. I do think that they should have thought about it before increasing the price or at least try it at a slow pace. 60% is a huge jump to make in one day. However, I am pleased to see that they will be keeping it on one site for now. That might be their saving grace in the end.

We are getting around the time of the year where the holidays are coming closer to us each day. That means shopping and saving money is on all of our minds. As a electronics/gadgets fan, I will be the first to say that I am not afraid to find a cheap deal. However, it can be time consuming and we all know money is time. That is why I am writing up this guide to help you find the cheapest deals to make your money go further. So lets get started!

Half is a great option if you have media fans on your list. They have books, DVDs, CDs and video games for low prices. I am plenty excited to find this site, just because I know that I will be able to stretch my dollar on here. However, be warned that it might take a while before you get your package so you might want to start ordering late this month or early next month.

iNetVideo is my next top pick. I used them last year and will be doing so again. Their prices are hard to beat and they do have some hard to find items. Best of all their selection is pretty large. My only issue is waiting for the package to arrive, so order early as well. I do believe they ship from Canada, so it does take a while.

eBay is another good option, but I recommend only using buy now feature. I have gotten a few good deals from here, but you should be warned about scammers and those who jack up shipping cost. Still, I will likely use this site early on in my own shopping so that I can ensure that I do get it.

Geeks seems to be a less known option, which I do not understand at all! They have a wide selection of great gifts and also allow you to afford them better. Same for Newegg and Tiger Direct, which are also 2 great options.

Other technology stores like Fry’s, Best Buy, HHGREGG, Amazon and similar sites will be a good option if you have a more breathing room in your budget. Also, as the holidays get closer we can start to expect sneak peek Cyber Monday and Black Friday deals. So be sure to pay attention to your local ads and don’t forget stores like WalMart, KMart and Target. They will have some amazing deals at times. Same goes for your local close out stores like Fred’s or Big Lots.

What are you tips for buying gifts? Also, what are some of the ways you save money or earn extra for the holidays?

Ouch for the Apple fanboys who loved the $0.99 cent movie rentals, who have always pointed it out as their “selling point”. Apple, which is no longer led by Steve Jobs seems to already start their downfall. Apple used to use the option as their winning point for the Apple TV, now seems to want to force their users to buy TV shows or movies. Here is the official excuse that they give.

iTunes customers have shown they overwhelmingly prefer buying TV shows. iTunes in the Cloud lets customers download and watch their past TV purchases from their iOS devices, Apple TV, Mac or PC allowing them to enjoy their programming whenever and however they choose

I don’t know about you, but I doubt that is the case. It seems like even after a few days without Steve is bad for them. Now while I did not rent from iTunes, I certainly know that thousands did use the service. Plus the fact that they did not release a warning prior to ending the service is just bad customer service. I think it is safe to say that Apple is on a quick downward path now.

Did you rent movies from iTunes? If so, will you miss the service? I would know to what some people would consider as good alternatives to it.
