The way that app works is that it can access your smartstart module in your car. However, while the app is free you do have to buy the module, which can cost $300.00 and a $30.00 yearly payment for the service. So taking any easy route does not come cheap, but if you happen to lose, your keys or have a lot of shopping sprees it might be worth the investment.
