Perhaps the Blackberry Curve 8330 was the first smartphone to ever be on a prepaid phone network(Boost Mobile), but that does not mean the phone is worth your money. Here is a quick breakdown on if the phone is worth your money or not.
Cost and Availability-
The phone cost close to $300.00 back when it first came out, but I do believe that they shaved off a hundred from the price since then. As far as I know, you can only buy it online and at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores. However, that was not how it was previously; where you could only buy it at Best Buy.
Phone Service-
The phone service in my opinion is crappy. I am not sure if it is Boost or the fact that the phone is an older model, but it is very slow to load and even at times, your internet connection will die on you. It can be very frustrating for those who surf the web a lot on their phone. The service cost $60.00 a month for unlimited everything, so it is cheaper than a contract phone yet you do get what you pay for.
Phone-
The phone is an older model and it is not exactly the best phone out on the market. The pointer ball sometimes does not work all that well when clicking, the internet can die on you, it does not have that many apps or storage. The battery that comes with it is weak and you will need to buy a better one, along with more storage if you are planning to use more than two apps.
The only good side about this model is that it does everything that Blackberry phones do on a contract phone service. It can support some video and music formats, but it is limited to a few formats.
Final Thoughts-
I am not a fan of either Boost Mobile or Blackberry Curve 8330. If they used a better phone model, it might have turned out better. I say that Boost and Blackberry both have failed big time to impress.
