Blackberry To Release iPhone Like Device

Good news for those who adore Blackberry, yet always wanted a phone much the iPhone. RIM is planning on unveiling their own touch screen smartphone that is thought to be a major competitor for the iPhone. Rumors have swirled for years that the RIM was planning their own iPhone knockoff, yet they have yet to release one.

The model will be the slider 9800, which will be released in Canada and Europe in time for the holidays. It will be released on August 12th, in the US. Blackberry is also releasing their newest OS along with the new phone, which is version 6. The slider 9800 will have an exclusive contract with AT&T much like the iPhone. With a two-year contract with AT&T, the phone will cost $199.99. At the time, we do not know which phone services that the slider 9800 in other countries will use. But you can now legally unlock any phone in the US, so you do not have to strictly use AT&T .
